For Whom?

The World Heart Federation

The World Heart Federation helps people to achieve a longer and better life through prevention and control of heart disease and strokes, with a focus on low- and middle- income countries. With initiatives such as World Heart Day, Go Red for Women and Workplace Wellness, the WHF increases public awareness of Cardiovascular Disease and actively ensures that there is a real understanding of the risk factors.

The WHF relies on donations and public support to carry out their vital activities.

As an example, the 8,000 Euro donation:

  • Will enable nearly 5,000 children in a developing country to receive the necessary preventative treatment over one year to protect them from the recurrence of rheumatic fever or
  • Can put 120 persons who are at risk on basic lifesaving treatment for a full year or
  • Would benefit close to 25 countries with a comprehensive cardiovascular disease prevention programme. It covers the costs of systematic screening, patient education, and training of healthcare professionals in low- and middle-income countries or
  • Enables the organisation of badly-needed training workshops in low- and middle- income countries for over 200 health professionals.
